Our bathroom is one room in our house that underwent a BIG change! Our "master" bathroom (which is actually in the hallway-gotta love those ranch-style layouts!) was one of the first priorities when we started our home remodel, mostly because we only had one (at the time). It was the only bathroom in our home and it is located in the hallway. We refnished the hardwood floors and remodeled the bathroom before we moved in. The rest of our home rennovations took place while we lived there.
The bathroom had at least 3 lovely shades of pink going on in there.
Here is the bathroom before...
I spent a few hours busting up tile by myself one night while the hubby worked on other projects around the house. Lots of fun taking your agression out with a sledge hammer!
Here are some pictures of the bathroom in progress...
The demolition was the only part that we did ourselves on this project. We hired a contractor to do the rest of the work.
I wanted the bathroom to have a calming, beachy feel (since the beach is one of my very favorite places to go!). I got my inspiration from the print over the toliet that I picked up a couple of summer's ago in Seagrove Beach, Florida, where we go every summer with the hubby's family.
And here is the finished product! I was very happy with how it all turned out. I wanted the walls to be more of a gray-blue, but it works for now. When I mentioned repainting it to the hubby recently, I thought he would have a heart attack, so I let it go (for now)!
My favorite part of the room would have to be the tile. I knew exactly what I had in mind before ever starting (don't you LOVE when you find just what you were looking for?!).
So there you have it! It is definitely a small space (and girls, who wouldn't love a bigger bathroom?), but we are very happy with how it turned out.
In honor of Roomspiration's bathrooms link party today, I'm also sharing our bathroom over at Shelli's fabulous blog, a'la mode. So go check us out and more of her AMAZING blog here.
Wow! What a transformation!! Love that you took it from "not so pretty in pink" to beautiful blue. Definitely has a beachy feel. Nice job :)
ReplyDeleteYou must have had an AWESOME contractor. He sounds hot. xoxo Katie
ReplyDeleteThank you Carolyn! We were so happy with how it all turned out! And Katie, you're right he's pretty awesome! And his wife and kids are pretty cute too! : ) Hope to see yall soon!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Just hopped over here from alamode...love looking at pictures of your house. I'm also the proud owner of a ranch. We're tackling the outside first, but will soon start on the inside. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThats amazing! I LOOOOVE the vanity and black granite. Nice.
ReplyDeleteThank you Molly! We started with the inside, which is why you won't see pictures of the outside of our house on the blog. Haha! That's next though! SJ, thank you for recommending that! I linked up today! Love your blog! Glad to have found it through the link party! And thank you Ann! Picking granite is such a tough decision for me, but I'm happy with how it turned out!
ReplyDeletetwo questions for you - can you tell me where you purchased your train rack and the shower curtain?
ReplyDeleteAmy, they are both from Target. Last I checked they didn't have the shower curtain anymore, but I bet they still have the rack. I'll look online and see!
