iPhone 5 Cover Dilemma

Over the weekend, I sneakily selflessly agreed to give the hubby my iPhone 4 (poor guy literally had a dinosaur for a phone!) and test out the new iPhone 5.  Much to the hubby's dismay, I have 3-4 cases for the iPhone 4.  But alas. these will not work for the iPhone 5.  Now I'm on the hunt for a new case.  And yes, I know "one of these things is not like the other" as far as the cases in this round-up go.  But I think it's edgy and pretty.  I'll let you figure out which one I'm talking about....  Help a girl out, Wayman Family Nesters!  Leave your comment with your vote below!  Or feel free to tell me your favorite case.  I'd love to check it out!  It's about time I made a decision since I'm carrying around my phone in a sock!  This is not something I want to jump without doing my research.  A cell phone cover says a lot about a person, don't you think?  Happy Monday!

Free the Nations Love!

I was so excited when Sarah contacted me about her awesome new website called "Free the Nations."  They are focused on fashionable fair trade jewelry.

Here's a little bit about Free the Nations from their website:
Our Vision:   To empower impoverished communities around the world with sustainable economic solutions that foster both collective and individual growth.

Our Mission:   To give individuals opportunities to help eradicate extreme poverty and human exploitation around the world through fashion.

Our Philosophy:    Free the Nations is a fashion movement—an ideology that your purchase can make a difference in someone’s life. We believe it is possible that fashion can not only make you feel good about yourself, but also bring freedom to others from poverty, disease, slavery, and exploitation.

Here's a few of my favorites:

Chloe Circle Bracelet

Suubi Bracelets

Azura Teal Earrings

Anika Glass Earrings
Crested Crane Necklace

 Paper Pearls Necklace
Agate Glass Pendant Necklace

Hayes, Our Little Trendsetter

Over the last couple months, I have snagged a few items of clothing when I've found a bargain for our sweet Hayes (check here if you have no idea who I'm talking about and missed our official name-revealing post!)

I got this shirt at the Crew Cuts outlet on sale.  I can never resist a good nautical theme!  LOVE Crew Cuts!!!

Love love love gingham!  I think this shirt from Target is adorable (in a manly way of course, hubby!).

Another great deal from the Crew Cuts outlet!  I don't know if the hubby is extremely fond of purple, but I think the skull and crossbones make it more manly!

This awesome vest wasn't purchased at our yard sale, so I had to snatch it up! This will be perfect for the camping trips we love to take.

I couldn't resist these sweet P.J.s from the Carter's outlet for just $6!  Don't want to get too carried away with Africa-themed clothes, but these were precious!

One of my favorite baby stores, Janie and Jack, was having a huge sale and I thought that this striped one-piece was adorable.

I had seen these swimshorts awhile back (also at Janie and Jack), and was so excited when they were on sale!

The last item I got on sale from Janie and Jack was this plaid one-piece.  Love it!

Since we don't know exactly how old our little guy will be when he gets home (0-12 months is our parameters), to be on the safe side all of the clothing I have bought is 12 months or older.

I don't need to buy much since I have 2 adorable nephews who will gladly pass down their hand-me-downs (which I LOVE), but I couldn't resist a few cute things that I've found on sale!

Do you other adoptive mamas buy clothes for your little ones before you even have a referral?  It makes it so much more real for me.  I like picturing him in his new clothes!

Shake Yo' Hair Feathers!

Yes, the title of this post is a throw-back to Nelly for those of you who remember the unforgettable hit,  "Shake Yo Tailfeather."  Thanks to my friend Anna for the inspiration for this post!

I can officially say I've been "feathered."  In case you don't know what I'm talking about, see the pictures below....

I mean, if Miley's doing it, it must be a good idea, right?

Now, I'm in no way comparing myself to the lovely Jennifer Love Hewitt or Hilary Duff.  My feathers actually look very similar to this guy...

There are many colors and sizes to choose from.  I went with a thick cream one with brown stripes and two thin ones.  One is a burnt orange color that the hair stylist thought looked good with my auburn hair and the other is a thin white one with black stripes.

The hubby called to see what I was up to and this is how our conversation went:
Hubby: What are you up to?
Me: I just went and got feathers.
Hubby: Huh?  (followed by immediate laughter)
Me: Feathers for my hair
Hubby: (more laughter)
Me: Ask the girls that sit around you.  They'll know what I'm talking about.
Hubby (in background-Lacey, do you know what hair feathers are?).  She says she does.
Me: See!

Well, there you have it.  I think hair feathers are fun!  What about you?  Love em' or hate em'?

Must-Have

My friend Kristin and I hosted a Stella and Dot party for our friend Katie last Sunday.  We had lots of fun getting to help people pick out some beautiful jewelry.  If you were unable to come and would like to order, here's your last chance!  Go to www.stelladot.com/katiewatson.  Click on "find your hostess" link in the top righthand corner.  Enter in "Kristin Stevens" and continue shopping.  Shipping is a flat $5.95, and your jewelry comes in a beautiful package.  I almost didn't want to open mine (almost!).

Below are a few pictures of some of my favorites.  Some of you may remember that fellow blogger Janell generously donated a Stella and Dot giftcard to our Give Hope Adoption Auction.

I have the arrow necklace below and LOVE IT!

In the catalog, they have the 2 necklaces below layered with the arrow necklace.  (HINT HINT hubby!)

The 2 bangles below are also on my wish list (hope your paying attention hubbs!)

My sister ordered these earrings and wore them to my baby's sister's graduation on Saturday and looked BEAUTIFUL in them!  I will have to borrow them soon!

Get online and order yours today!  It would make a great gift for a friend or an upcoming graduate. What are some of your favorites from the Stella and Dot collection?  It's so hard to choose just one!

Last Minute Valentine's Day Gifts

If any of you men (or ladies) our there need last minute gift ideas, I've got some for you! AND they benefit others (the best kind of gift!)!

Ordinary Hero has designed a valentinish Africa t-shirt. Proceeds from all of their shirt sales go toward helping children home to their forever families. It also helps them give matching grants during their fundraisers.
I ordered this one in light blue.

Here is the same shirt in red. I had SUCH a hard time choosing! In the end, I chose the light blue because I have a red cardigan that I wanted to wear over it. I LOVE sporting pink and red on Valentine's Day!

And for your pint-sized valentines, they have these adorable onesies! They're not just for Valentine's Day, I just thought they were way too cute!
And if the hubs doesn't like your little boys wearing pink, they also have one in gray!

And let's not forget the men in our lives! They like gifts too! Ordinary Hero has unisex t-shirts and hoodies. Here's just one of my favorites!

These are just a few of my favorite products offered on Ordinary Hero's website, so check it out! I can't wait to wear mine on Monday! Pin It
