Singing to the birthday boy.

He was unsure about the cake until I gave him a bite of icing.  Then he dug in.  I'll have to post the video later.  It was pretty awesome!

Big cousins are great for helping open presents!

Holding the toy Mommy and Daddy bought in Ethiopia.  We bought him gifts to give for several birthdays.  He loves making noise with his zebra toy!

Great-granparents.

He fell asleep shortly after opening his presents.  It didn't bother him that we had a house full of people.  This birthday boy was TIRED!

We were sad to be missing Uncle John and Aunt Ellen who couldn't make it, but we had a great day!  We are blessed with a large family who love and care about our precious boy!  We had a great day celebrating our Ethiopian angel!

  1. Hi Jennifer,

My husband spoke with your husband by email the other day and said that your Hayes had recently had a birthday. It's so wonderful that he was home for his first birthday right where he should be with his forever mommy and daddy. :)

What a fun party it was and Hayes is adorable. We just wanted to say Happy Birthday! We wish you all many many blessings together as a family!

  2. What a sweet little boy. Mine is one in two weeks and will be using some of your ideas for his wheels on the bus party all the way in Saudi Arabia. Blessings to you and that angel. X
