Home Study Meeting #3

Today we have our last (hopefully) home study meeting.  I say hopefully because our social worker said we may have to meet again, but it's nothing to worry about if we do!  This one will be at our house again.  I had a friend today ask about the second meeting and realized that I hadn't posted about that, so let me rewind a little bit.  Click here to catch up if you missed the post about home study meeting #1.

The second  meeting was at our home study agency's office.  The hubby and I met with our social worker together for about 30 minutes.  Then came time for the individual interviews.  I let the hubby go first so he could go back to work when he was finished.  I got to hang out in the lobby and wait and wait for my turn.  Luckily I brought entertainment (a book an my iPad).  An hour an a half later, it was my turn.

I was definitely nervous going into the meeting.  I mean, what was I going to talk about for an hour and a half?!  But, I settled in, answering questions mostly about my family and the way I was raised.  We talked a little about mine and the hubby's relationship, but we'll get into that more in our final meeting.

At today's meeting she will interview both the hubby and me together.  I'm ready to get this part of our adoption finished.  Then it means we'll be one step closer to bringing our little boy home!

  1. Congratulations! The last big hurdle! The waiting after you have the approved home study was the hardest part for us because we were like, "ummm...we are approved now and we know there are tons of kids who need homes, so what is taking so long?!" After that it's out of your hands and all you can do is wait. It took us 4 months between getting the HS approved and being placed with our son, but I know several families who waited longer. Good luck!!!

  2. Way to go! We just finished our second visit a few weeks ago and are waiting for the write up for our third visit. I'm sure all will be well. Looking forward to continuing to follow your journey.

  3. Thank you all for the encouragement! The good thing is, I don't get nervous and my house is not NEARLY as perfect as the first time! Haha! I'm just ready to finish!
